Our Therapists
ALLC EV is very proud to have the finest reading teachers available to work with our students. Our therapists all have at least a Bachelor's Degree in Education and Arizona State Teaching Certificates. Four have Master's Degrees. Four are certified Reading Specialists. One is Cross-Categorical Special Education certified. All have had extensive training in dyslexia. All are passionate, dedicated teachers who want their students to succeed.
Cassie Bates, M.Ed. - Therapy Director
Cassie currently teaches full time as a Reading Specialist. She has received training in Wilson Fundations, Barton Reading & Spelling System, Wilson Reading Program and Lindamood-Bell LiPS and Seeing Stars. Ms. Bates believes all children can learn to read when provided with the appropriate instruction. For Cassie, no child is ever left behind!
Carey Paulo, M.Ed.
Carey has taken a break from teaching full time to be with her two little boys. She loves being able to work with children part time to keep that connection with the teaching world. Carey's students love her caring way of showing them their strengths and reminding them of what they already know. A mother of one of Carey's student wrote, "I will always be grateful for having the opportunity to work with Linda, Danielle and especially Carey." Chris Roberts, B.A. Chris is a special education teacher who works with elementary aged children with dyslexia every day. He expects the best from his students and the time in therapy is spent employing quality practices from years of research. He has had extensive training in many Orton-Gillingham type programs. His extensive experience allows him to continually evaluate student progress and make adjustments along the way. Sue Noel, M.Ed. Sue has recently joined our staff of therapists and she has already made quite an impression! Sue has been a reading specialist for 12 years. She also taught junior high, so she is very adept with children of all ages. Ms. Noel understands the frustration from many years of failure that so many of our older students have experienced. She has a nurturing, patient manner that allows the students to challenge themselves as they are ready. In just a few weeks, Sue has made huge differences with the young men in her care. Their parents are very thankful that Sue is able to help their children realize that intelligence is not the problem, it is simply a brain wiring difference that can be overcome! |
